Grand Tetons #2

We recommend spending two full days in Grand Teton National Park, or more if you want to add a lot of hiking. This park is beautiful with some great trails and wildlife, and it is generally less crowded than Yellowstone.

In the morning, we recommend doing a float trip on Snake River if you haven’t already (see Grand Teton #1) or visit the National Museum of Wildlife Art. The museum will only take a few hours to view and has some truly impressive wildlife art alongside stories about its creation.

In the afternoon, spend at least a half day hiking around Jenny Lake. There is ample parking near the trailhead. We hiked around the south side of lake and up to Inspiration Point. This hike is full of rocks so wear proper footwear, bring bear spray and plenty of water. There are photo opportunities with waterfall and wildlife. A moose crossed our path! The climb at the end is full of stairs, but the view makes it worthwhile and is a good spot to eat a packed lunch. After the hike, we took the ferry back to the parking lot, which provided another beautiful perspective of the mountains. You will be able to buy a one-way ticket on the parking lot side of the lake when you arrive. The hike was 3-4 hours in total.

Head back to Jackson and enjoy a nice dinner at one of their restaurants for your last night before wrapping up the trip.
